LAN and WAN
  • Heavy involvement in communications requires a good sound knowledge of the topology's to be used for LAN and WAN solutions.
  • I have developed an extensive knowledge base through the activities of the companies I have owned and operated as well as contractual work in the development, design and installation of these services.
  • full understanding of cable systems which include twisted pair, coaxial, two and four wire, star and bustopology's, Fibre, HFC, HFF
  • Cable and Topology Planning and Design
  • Numbering Schemes (future proof)
  • Routing Scheme to avoid congestion
  • Server implementation and placement
  • Network Management Design
  • Application Management
Software/Hardware R&D
  • started in electronics in 1987
  • intimate knowledge of how and why it works rather than just that it works
  • grasp new technologies rapidly
  • understand and design cost effective implementation plans
  • critical for today's environment which changes every six months
  • full diverse background in many programming languages
  • project leadership experience gives skills in management and project leadership
  • used skills to work with teams in the development of solutions
  • prefer using are 'C' and 'C++", Assembler (any processor), Perl, and BASIC
  • also have a knowledge of Object languages
  • application languages such as SQL
Most recently I have been working with Access, Microsoft SQL, Perl and C.
